“ Nothing better than fried to order chicken with a kick that’s piping hot from the fryer. The outside is crispy and crunchy. The inside is moist and tender. Their sides are delicious. Love the greens, fries, and fried mushrooms. Staff are always friendly. Deon has waited on us several times. It takes a little longer for the chicken to arrive since they fry it when it’s ordered. ”
“ Great chicken, friendly service. In a region full of great chicken places, Gus's holds its own. We've been coming for years: the chicken is crispy, unique & flavorful with a light kick. The sides have a robust flavor with my family's top favorites being the macaroni & beans. The staff has always been welcoming, warm & even on a busy night, upbeat. The restaurant is clean & the bar front a nice place to enjoy a drink while waiting for an order. It's not currently on the online menu, but they have kids meals & sometimes daily specials. ”

BUT, they were busy and I did not mind waiting on the food. All the food was tasty. I especially like the chicken fingers. Good flavor and NOT greasy at all. The fried chicken has a slight kick to it, but it's not overwhelming. We were thrilled to find out there was one in St. Louis, and went last night.
